Description
WeChant marks the beginning of artist Rhett Tsai’s Smart City series, a body of work reflecting on the contemporary condition of emerging smart cities.

Presented as a pseudo-commercial and satirical video, the work imagines a fictional personal data-erasing spray device called “WeChant,” paying homage to the Ubik spray in Philip K. Dick’s science fiction novel Ubik.

As smart cities rapidly approach reality, this work serves as both a contemplation of future modes of living and a self-reflection by the artist as an urban citizen.

作品简介
《微颂》（WeChant）作为艺术家蔡宇潇“智能城市”创作系列的开端，是一件对当下智能城市（smart city）进行反思的作品。

作为一段伪广告片及反讽式影像，本作品虚构了一款个人数据抹除喷雾设备「微颂」，喷雾的英文名活用自中国最大社交媒体平台WeChat。同时，它亦是对 Philip K. Dick 科幻小说《Ubik》中的Ubik喷雾器的致敬。

在智能城市即将到来的当下，本作品是对未来生活模式的反思及作者身为城市市民的自省。
